Chapter Activities

Our DAR Kawaiisu Chapter located in Lake Isabella, California, has been very involved in various community projects and activities. We help provide monthly breakfast for our local veterans along with actively participating in Memorial Day and Veterans Day local celebrations.  For the year 2018-19, we will be focusing on making crafts and articles for our Christmas Bazaar, as well as, participating in Wreaths Across America.  At our Fancy Hat Tea in April, one of our members will be presenting: "Underground Quilts of the Civil War".

  • In January, we honor a special high school senior with the DAR Good Citizens Award.
  • In February, we present awards to winning students who participated in our DAR American History Essay Contest.
  • In May, we present Youth Citizenship awards to 5th grade students from our local elementary schools.

End of year activities find us awarding college scholarships to deserving graduating high school senior.

For the upcoming year of 2018-2019, we will hold a Christmas Bazaar in December and a Fancy Hat Tea in April to raise funds for giving to our local schools, veterans and our community.
